BBC comes to film the documentary: ‘Cricket’s Forgotten Team’
At the start of this year Jo Currie, a Women’s Sports reporter with BBC, had the privilege of spending time with the Afghanistan Women’s Cricket Team in Melbourne, as they prepared for their first official game.
BBC filmed and produced a documentary where the Afghanistan Women's Cricket Team talk to Jo about their journey. The journey from fleeing the Taliban and leaving their homes in Afghanistan, to now living and playing cricket here in Australia. They are still fighting though, to be recognized by the International Cricket Council. This documentary shows their stories highlighting their courage, determination, defiance and hope for a brighter future for themselves and their families.
