Shabnam Ahsan for completing the ‘Girls Leadership Program’ after being selected by Cricket Victoria
Leading the Game – Girls Leadership Program
Shabnam was nominated by her local cricket club, Carnegie Cricket Club, to participate in Cricket Victoria’s “Girls Leadership Program” which is powered by the MCC Foundation. Shabnam was selected and completed this four-session program aimed to inspire and educate the next generation of female leaders in Victoria’s cricket community.
In Afghanistan Shabnam did not have opportunities like this to explore social issues or take on leadership roles in this way.is proud of how she was able to develop new skills and gain a deeper understanding of how to create positive change, despite being nervous at first because all this was so new to her. Her courage in overcoming her doubts and anxiety paid off and this project has changed how she sees leadership. She now feels more confident speaking up about issues that matter but she also has developed practical skills like research, communication, and teamwork. Most importantly, it has shown her that even small actions can create real change in the community.
