Selfie with the Governor General of Australia

The Governor-General, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, was honoured to attend the match between the Afghan Women’s XI and Cricket Without Borders XI. She considered it more than just a hard fought, exciting game of cricket featuring talented athletes - it was a reminder of the power of sport to bring people together and to connect.  

Beyond the excellent cricket, most striking part of the day was the infectious joy amongst the players and it matched an observation from one of the Afghan players; that in Australia ‘we smile and say hello and when you knock on the door for help, we help.’ Sporting some pretty rad yellow sneakers the GG got down and took a pretty epic selfie featuring some pretty epic women – there's almost too much power in that photo.
